Dr. Abhishek has been associated with Laxmi Netralaya since 2011. After finishing his MS in Ophthalmology, he did his fellowship at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore in the Vitreo-retinal subspecialty for 2 years. Later he did another fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at the renowned Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia for 1 year. After gaining adequate expertise, he joined Laxmi Netralaya as a vitreoretinal consultant.
He is amongst very few retina experts in the state of Bihar. His areas of interest are Diabetic Retinopathy, Vascular occlusions, Retinopathy of Prematurity, and Surgical vitreo-retinal diseases. Apart from this, he is a very experienced phaco surgeon and manages all kinds of complex cataract cases and secondary IOL fixation.
He has received several awards from the professional bodies for his active role as a speaker, educationalist, and organizer. He is an active member of many national and international professional Ophthalmological societies like International Ocular Inflammation Society, All India Ophthalmological Society, Vitreoretinal Society Of India, Uveitis Society Of India, Delhi Ophthalmological Society, Bihar Ophthalmological Society, Tamil Nadu Ophthalmological Society etc.
